Windows 7 Support

This release now fully supports Windows 7 for 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The VXI drivers have been updated to support Windows 7. The installs for these drivers are included on the Update DVD for both VTI Instruments and National Instruments interface modules. There is no support for the National Instruments Firewire interface module. Please also note, the Agilent firewire solution is not supported on Windows 7 64 bit.

B&K LAN-XI Driver for PULSE 15

  • Supports Windows 7 (with TFI6.1m1)
  • Supports Pulse 15 and 15.1
  • Added support for the new 3053 LANXI module (12-channel module)
  • Fixed Trigger issue with disabled channels
  • NOTE: New versions supporting Pulse 16 and 16.1 are available from the Bruel and Kjaer website (www.bksv.com)

FEM Calibrator

This release includes the following enhancements: Animated mode shapes can now be displayed. Test and analytical mode shapes can be displayed on test geometry. Displays can be pasted to Microsoft Office documents as active displays allowing the viewer to zoom, rotate and change display settings within a document. Updated to support the latest NASTRAN versions.

Ability to Log Channel Overloads

In the Signal Processing task, when you use the Acquire command in conjunction with a Real Time Display, the software now sends the channel overload information to the I-deas List Region. You can create a log of this data to capture overload information for a measurement. To create the log, select the Files->Program Files->Create menu command before you use the Acquire command.

Digital Filtering Adjusts for Passband Slope Options

When you use the Filtering commands to filter time history data, the software now adjusts the ordinate data type when you apply a filter that has been integrated or differentiated using the Slope Passband menu commands (Filtering>Options->Slope Passband). This only applies to acceleration, velocity, or displacement data types. If the the filtered results do not represent an existing I-deas data type, the software sets the resulting data type to “UNKNOWN”.

New version of Nastran Importers

A new version of The Nastran Importers is included on the Update Disk under Addtional software. The new version has been updated to support NX NASTRAN 8.0 and MSC NASTRAN 2010.

Additional Enhancements

  • The icon to launch B&K Reflex was also added to the Signal Processing Task for users that do not have a license for the Modal Task. This icon is located in the Acoustic Post Processing icon stack.
  • The transducer type is automatically set to ICP when TEDS transducers are imported into the Channel Table Spreadsheet.
  • The “Copy to Analysis” command was added to the Operating Shapes menu in the Post Processing Task.
  • Restored the NASTRAN, ANSYS, and ABAQUS dataloader menu picks to the Test for I-deas import menu. These require Siemens or Maya licensing. Use the “Dataloaders” install on the Update DVD to use Maya licensing.

Bug Fixes

  • Corrected the Shape Browser and the B&K Reflex launch. The wrong geometry model could be loaded if multiple geometry models existed in the model file.
  • Fixed a Universal file read crash when dataset 58 was included with geometry datasets.
  • Exporting Time Histories or Functions to spreadsheet text would fail when the NM (mm-Newton-tonne) system of units was active.
  • The Channel Table Spreadsheet would crash when setting the Coupling attribute while one or more channels were disabled.
  • The spreadsheet export would crash when using the Newton-Tonne system of units.
  • Prevent a crash the occurred when the Universal file dataset 58b (binary) read was performed on a truncated file.
